In doing so, we joined a group of companies that have partnered with first lady of Puerto Rico,\u00a0Beatriz Rossell\u00f3, to help rebuild through her organization, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unidosporpuertorico.com\/en\/\">Unidos por Puerto Rico<\/a> (United for Puerto Rico). This represents a unique collaboration between the first lady and many private sector companies such as Microsoft, AT&amp;T, Coca-Cola, FirstBank, Merck, JetBlue, Burger King and others.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/244956035\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don&#8217;t forget the tots!<\/strong><br \/>\nWe also stuffed boxes with plushy cuteness (as well as games, cars and robots, of course!) for our annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toysfortots.org\/\">Toys for Tots<\/a> drive, and sent Toys a cash donation. We partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesheridanstory.org\/\">the Sheridan Story<\/a>, a northeast Minneapolis organization that fights child hunger by providing food for the weekend to hungry children. In a little over two weeks, we collected 1,363 food items, an impressive 797 of them coming from our Warehouse\/Parts Team (go warehouse!). This is enough food to feed about 272 children for one weekend. Here are some other projects from 2017.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p><strong>Casual month fundraiser; The Bridge for Youth in Minneapolis<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployees purchased a \u201ccasual day\u201d pass for the month, our CEO matched the funds, and all was donated to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bridgeforyouth.org\/\">The Bridge for Youth<\/a> for homeless teens. We also gathered 15 bags of clothes for The Bridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blood drive at Memorial Blood Center<\/strong><br \/>\nA full 30% of employees participated. The free snacks possibly had something to do with it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p><strong>Making Strides Against Breast Cancer <\/strong><br \/>\nIn October we walked with hundreds of others to raise money for breast cancer research and other support for survivors. The <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.acsevents.org\/site\/SPageServer\/;jsessionid=00000000.app331a?pagename=strides_msabc&amp;NONCE_TOKEN=ED6FFE9B4D35765FF2DDFFAAB8282213\">Making Strides Against Breast Cancer<\/a> walk had a great turnout.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1540\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2023\/10\/Screen-Shot-2017-12-04-at-3.28.46-PM.png\" alt=\"DC Group employees \" width=\"500\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text_exposed_show\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Earth Day<\/strong><br \/>\nThe DC Group team rolled up our sleeves and foraged for trash along the Mississippi River riverbank on Earth Day (after all, our headquarters is right on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi!). Here\u2019s how we do it!<\/p><p>First, our field service engineers (FSEs) are full employees, not contractors, and we have hired for a very high level of expertise in our FSE staff\u2014we have more OEM and military experience in our fleet of field service engineers than any other independent service provider. Being employees means that our FSEs have full support and ongoing training at our state-of-the-art training facility. It also means they\u2019re accountable to a boss.<\/p><p>We have FSEs in almost every major city, which has cut our average response time in major metro areas to a half hour (our average response time overall holds steady at 2.35 hours). Along with our FSEs, we have strategically located parts hubs. Having the correct parts on hand is crucial to resolving issues quickly, so we keep those parts hubs supplied with OEM-discontinued and rare components as well as the most commonly used and in-demand parts.
